A Player at Heart, An Engineer by Training
Walter Chen grew up on the tennis courts of Southern California, spending every free moment perfecting his serve and chasing down balls. While his dreams of going pro did not pan out, his passion for the game never faded.
After studying mechanical engineering at Stanford and spending a decade designing footwear for major athletic brands, Walter noticed something that frustrated him: tennis shoes were an afterthought. They were either running shoes with different soles or basketball shoes made lighter.
In 2019, he decided to change that. Starting with a blank canvas and deep understanding of what tennis players actually need, Walter began designing shoes from the ground up specifically for tennis.
